The original project by Carlo Mollino was presented during the Triennale in Milan in 1954, but has never been realised; the Politecnico of Turin and the Walser Mountain Community recovered it and accomplished it in 2014.
This low-energy consumption building uses the most recent and innovative technologies to avoid the use of fossil fuels. It is a suspended structure, a modern interpretation of Walser traditions from the upper Grassoney valley. Design criteria are based on architectural, structural and technological aspects that follow the principles by Carlo Mollino.
