Less than a year before the start of the 2026 Winter Olympics, Milan is preparing to unveil its Olympic Village, an innovative architectural project that will bring new life to the historic area of Porta Romana. Designed by the international firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the Village is not only an infrastructure designed to host athletes during the event, but also a concrete example of urban redevelopment for the future. After the Games, the area will be transformed into a modern residential center dedicated to students, further demonstrating how cities can evolve, adapt, and respond to the new needs of the community.
In a context like that of the Olympic Village, the safety and well-being of people are essential. For this reason, we had the honor of providing Bistar doors, designed to meet the specific needs of the project. Our doors have been made to ensure the maximum in terms of fire safety and sound insulation, two essential features for a space that will have to accommodate many residents and students. Bistar doors offer superior performance in every aspect: fire protection is a priority to ensure people's safety, while sound insulation is designed to create quiet environments, ideal for study and rest, even in a dynamic urban context like that of Milan.
The Olympic Village of Milan is not only an example of modern architecture, but also a vision of how the cities of the future should be conceived: flexible spaces, capable of adapting to different needs and evolving over time. No longer constructions destined for ephemeral use, but structures designed to last, to serve the community in a dynamic and continuous way. Our participation in this project represents our commitment to supporting innovative, safe and high-quality solutions, able to respond to the modern challenges of urban living. Bistar doors are just one example of how advanced technologies can contribute to improving life in cities, offering a safer, more comfortable, and sustainable future for all.
We are proud to be part of such an important project, which will not only change the face of Milan, but also contribute to redesigning the concept of urban living. Our commitment is to continue offering cutting-edge solutions, designed to last and adapt to the needs of those who live and work in the cities. With the Olympic Village, Milan is setting an example of how a large temporary infrastructure can be transformed into a lasting value for the community, and we are happy to have been a part of it.
